Tony Romo is Joining Jim Nantz on CBS

Today marks the end of an era for the Dallas Cowboys with not only the release of quarterback Tony Romo, but also his retirement from the NFL. The news ushers in a new legacy for the Cowboys with the team’s focus being on the 23 year old Dak Prescott.

It isn’t the end for Romo though, you’ll still be able to catch him on CBS for the foreseeable future. At the beginning of the 2017 NFL season he will be taking over for Phil Simms and will be broadcasting alongside Jim Nantz.

There is a long history of retired NFL players in the broadcast booth. Romo joins the likes of Chris Collinsworth, Frank Gifford, Don Meredith and many more as announcers.
