BELLEVUE – The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce announced that FanWide is the winner of the 2017 Eastside Leadership Conference Audience Choice Best in Pitch & Show competition. FanWide is an app that helps sports fans find other local fans to watch their favorite team play at a bar or restaurant, wherever they live or travel.
This is the third competition FanWide has won since September 2016, winning first place at the Crowd Invest Summit and the Bellevue Tech Expo.
“FanWide thanks the Eastside Leadership Conference and its partners for this recognition and for supporting all local businesses in the region,” said FanWide President & Founder, Symon Perriman, who pitched the company and accepted the award. “Most of the FanWide team are work transplants that moved to the Seattle area, myself included, and we became friends through our love of sports combined with the region’s welcoming hospitality. We want to be able to share the area’s passion for technology, sports and community with the rest of the world.”
Joe Wallin, startup attorney and advisor with Carney Badley Spellman, queued up the pitch competition. He gave kudos to the event that showed off the strength of our startup community. “The pitches from all of the companies, to the hundreds in attendance, were outstanding. I really enjoyed learning about the problems these companies are working on solving,” he said. “Our future looks very bright with such great innovators and the support for them in our community.”
A Grand Prize Package of cash and startup services was awarded to FanWide, thanks to the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Delta Air Lines, KING 5, The Seattle Times and law firm Carney Badley Spellman. The following startups competed: Anatomy Next, BluePark LLC/GarageHop, Digital TechBox, Doghead Simulations, dTOOR, extraSlice, FanWide, iMovR, Lumobee Inc. and Ripl, Inc.. Audience choice voting determined the winner.
