Thanks to all the Fans for Coming Out and Making the USA vs. Mexico World Cup Qualifier a Huge Success!
On June 11, 2017, FanWide brought together fans from all across Seattle to Belltown Pub for the USA vs. Mexico World Cup qualifier watch party. While the game resulted in a tie, more than 150 fans packed the Pub, creating a spirited event that is sure to set the stage for future FanWide Soccer watch parties in Seattle and select markets across the country.
From the USA and Mexico fans cheering and chanting for their country, to games and giveaways like the autographed Clint Dempsey photo raffle prize, the match point pick ’em scored card contest and the most (adorable) spirited fan winner, Bambi the Chihuahua – the watch party was a great time for everyone involved!
The USA needed at least a tie in this match to keep their hopes alive for making the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Thanks to an early goal by Michael Bradley and a tremendous defensive effort to hold off Mexico from scoring a second goal, the U.S. Men’s National Team now sits at third in their group’s rankings. This puts them in the driver seat for the final qualifying spot for the next year’s World Cup if they can finish strong throughout the rest of the summer.
