How Will Fantasy Sports Operators Stay Relevant & Engage Fans In The Dog Days Of COVID-19 (Coronavirus)?

Fantasy sports is a big part of American culture. It is a key driver behind thousands of Watch Parties organized by bars and restaurants.  The COVID-19 pandemic swept through the nation like wildfire bringing mainstream sports to a halt.   Traditional operators now need to get creative and stay relevant within the sports community. The national directive to self-quarantine would be much easier if live mainstream sporting events were running.  They would serve as a great distraction from the seriousness of this virus affecting us all.  StatementGames Inc. is one operator that continues to unite and engage sports fans through there platform.  The StatementGames Inc. platform operates a game with a twist on daily fantasy sports.  Even in the dog days of COVID-19, games are available for play daily.

The US Missed Their Chance… Who to Root for in the 2018 World Cup?

Although it seems like soccer is at an all-time high in terms of popularity in the United States, the fandom couldn’t help the US Men’s National Team in the World Cup Qualifiers this year. The USMNT finished 5th out of 6 teams in the Hexagonal round of the CONCACAF 2018 World Cup Qualifiers, a finish that failed to qualify them for the 2018 World Cup. However difficult it may be to stomach, 32 other national teams will travel to Russia. But, who’s jersey should you wear as you watch for hours on end? What colors should you paint your face? Which team do you think will hoist the 2018 FIFA World Cup Trophy in Moscow?

The Stage is Set for a Dramatic Finish to the 2018 UEFA Champions League

So far it has been quite a crazy year in the UEFA Champions League. The sound of 16 draws brought on tantalizing matchups between big-spenders, Paris Saint-German against defending champions Real Madrid. The Round of 16 included five seemingly dominant English Premier League teams. Manchester City cruised to a 5-2 victory in aggregate over Swiss side FC Basel. Liverpool’s magnificent front three thrashed Portuguese giants, FC Porto, 5-0 in aggregate. However, Tottenham Hotspur did fall short after their triumphant first leg, come from behind, draw against the Italian champions and last year’s runner-up, Juventus. These exciting games are best enjoyed when you are surrounded by dozens of other fans from your favorite team! If you are living in the United States, you can use FanWide to find the closest fan club or game watch party in any city.

Losing Net Neutrality will Increase the Cost of Watching Sports

It is common knowledge now that the FCC chose to repeal net neutrality laws in the United States. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the concept of net neutrality, it is a set of rules intended to ensure all Internet traffic is treated equally. With the removal of rules regulating the actions of Internet Service Providers (ISPs), big communication conglomerates such as Comcast or Spectrum have the potential to control what consumers have access to on the Internet, and charge different tiered prices for different services.

USMNT: The downfall of US soccer

The US Men’s National Team failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup last night after a tragic 2-1 loss to Trinidad and Tobago. This is the first time the USMNT has been left out since 1986. All they needed was a tie and they would have moved on. However, their loss mixed with Panama’s victory over Costa Rica and Honduras’s over Mexico put the final nail in the USMNT’s coffin.
