Overall, this leads to a satisfied fanbase, as they remain engaged with the team, even when there aren’t any games being played.
Residing in downtown Phoenix, the 5th largest city in the United States, the Arizona Diamondbacks have accumulated a large fanbase that contributes to their overall success in the MLB. This is not only due to the fact that they are located in such a populous city, the team also works hard to distribute information on their social media platforms and their website. This leads to fans being able to easily stay updated on their favorite team.

This keeps their fans engaged, as they are able to easily keep up with what is going on within the team. They also post about the community service events that staff, players, and fans engage in on their social media accounts. It allows fans to not only join in these community service events with the players, but also lets them notice the great work that the team is doing.
Located in the 14th most populous city in the United States, the Columbus Blue Jackets have built themselves a large fan base that contributes to their overall success. This is due to the multiple ways in which the team communicates with their fans. For example, the team utilizes social media applications such as Instagram (with 344,000 followers), Twitter (with 477,000 followers) or Facebook (with 307,000 followers). Despite the fact that these accounts rank 28th among all NHL teams in terms of quantity of followers (according to Sports Business Daily), they are still heavily utilized when delivering game highlights, statlines, post-game interviews, and many other things to their fanbase.

This is partly due to the team’s big market location, but it is also due to the team’s internet and social media presence. Both accounts provide constant updates and highlights so that the fanbase can feel connected with their team.
